The story of JRG Motorsport — how one ambitious idea became a full-size Formula-inspired car and the beginning of something much bigger.
IT STARTED WITH AN IDEA
My name is Joe Spagnuolo, and I'm the founder of JRG Motorsport.
JRG Motorsport began on the Gold Coast, Queensland, with my passion for cars, motorsport, design and creating something different.
I've always been interested in what can be achieved when you take an idea and put in the time and determination to make it real.
One of those ideas was to build a full-size Formula 1-inspired car.
Not a small model. Not something to sit on a shelf. But a life-size car that people could stand beside, experience and even sit inside.
I wanted to challenge myself to create something extraordinary, starting with the technology and resources available to me.
At that stage, I didn't know just how far the project would take me.
What started as an ambitious idea would eventually become the foundation of JRG Motorsport.

FROM A 3D DESIGN TO REALITY
The journey began with 3D printing.
Rather than buying a completed display car, I decided to create one from individual printed components.
The body was divided into numerous sections, with each part printed separately before being prepared and assembled.
Piece by piece, the shape of a full-size Formula-inspired car began to appear.
It wasn't simply a matter of pressing a button and watching a car come to life.
Every stage brought new challenges.
Parts needed to be joined and reinforced. The body required fibreglass work, sanding, preparation and an automotive finish.
There were problems to solve, skills to develop and plenty of work involved.
The car began taking shape at our original assembly location before moving to another workshop for the detailed body preparation and painting stages.
Seeing a digital concept gradually turn into something physical has been one of the most rewarding parts of the journey.
And as the build progressed, the meaning behind the project began to grow.

MORE THAN JUST A CAR
As the project developed, I began thinking about what this car could mean to other people.
I imagined taking it beyond the workshop and bringing it to children and families who might never otherwise have the opportunity to experience something like it up close.
In particular, I thought about children spending time in hospitals and how a special experience could bring some happiness and excitement into their day.
Imagine a child being able to walk up to a full-size Formula-inspired car, climb into the cockpit, hold the steering wheel and have their photograph taken.
For that moment, they could enjoy something completely different from their everyday surroundings.
That is one of the most important reasons I want to complete this project.
My vision is to use the car to support children's hospital charities, fundraising initiatives and community events.
I want the build to create memorable experiences, bring people together and contribute to something positive.
Because sometimes a moment of happiness can make a meaningful difference.
This is a future community vision. No hospital visits or charity partnerships are confirmed here.

THE BIRTH OF JRG MOTORSPORT
While the Formula-inspired car was the beginning, my vision for JRG Motorsport has continued to grow.
I realised this project could represent something much bigger than one vehicle.
Motorsport brings together people who share a passion for cars, engineering, competition, creativity and innovation.
And that passion extends beyond Formula racing.
It includes Supercars, Japanese performance cars, motorcycles, trucks, custom builds and the wider automotive community.
I want JRG Motorsport to become a place where people can connect through that shared passion.
A brand that creates automotive experiences, develops original products, showcases unique projects and brings enthusiasts together.
I'm also passionate about exploring technology and how it can change the future of automotive design and manufacturing.
From 3D printing and custom-built components to artificial intelligence and engineering, I want to keep exploring what is possible.
The F1 project showed me what determination and new technology can achieve.
JRG Motorsport is where I want to take those ideas further.

THIS IS ONLY THE BEGINNING
When I look back at where this journey began, it's remarkable to see how an idea and a collection of 3D-printed parts have grown into something with a much bigger purpose.
There is still plenty of work ahead.
The Formula-inspired car is the first major chapter in the JRG Motorsport story.
My goal is to complete it, share the experience with communities, support worthwhile causes and continue building JRG Motorsport into a brand that represents passion, innovation and opportunity.
I want to inspire people to dream bigger, create something different and believe in the ideas they have.
The journey is about more than the finished car.
It's about what we build, who we bring together and what we can achieve along the way.
This is my journey.
